Things
She likes the things,
so she goes shopping
every day.
She has about
fifty skirts
and as many dresses.
She comes home
with more stuff.
They don't build
big enough closets
and houses.
She complains
they don't have
enough money for travel,
when she watches
neighbors RV
go somewhere
and don't come back
sometimes for weeks.
They spend everything
on things:
clothes and shoes.
"These slacks
I wore only once."
I don't have
a shopping power.
I watch changing
seasons
and swift river
in old jeans
and hand me down
hoodie.
Things are not
in my dreams.
