Little kisses

He is dusting and counting leaves and petals of a little sunflower and singing a lullaby. Last night you weren't home, and when you came, you slept in your dirty nightgown and smelly socks. Little kisses and tenderness for each leaf and petal. Sunflower goes to sleep with Sun. Sometimes during the night it turns its head facing sunrise. You get up grumpy and go outside to smoke your cigarettes and do not wake up till' you have your first coffee. Then you'll be able to say your good morning and serve breakfast. Good morning! I would like your little kisses. Copyright (c) Marie Neumann Summer 2017

We are not musicians

We are not musicians coming from Czech lands. I don't know how to play. We don't know it also. What you don't play? I don't know how to play guitar, banjo, ukulele, washboard, tambourine and fagot. Just name it and I shall stand like a scarecrow in the middle of the field. I don't know how to play citera, trombone, flute, harpsichord, alphorn and my throat. I don't play and I am out of the game. Variation on Czech folk song.

Doggie

is molesting our feet, when we sleep. Meanwhile he will use a pillow, a blanket, anything soft to pretend it is his mate. He also likes to be a peeping tom without a pay, just watches how people play. Observes human's habits since we didn't get him his partner, he gets what he gets. Are we going to put him sleep? No. He is just one young, healthy dog. He is our pet. R for people and puppies, too. Copy(c) Marie Neumann Summer 2014

Ireland - Irish

I have never been to Ireland and I don't know anything about it, so if you wish me to write something about this subject, I'll have to turn into a liar, and you'll know it. It's an island and it's green. I met many people around here with Irish roots. They have two ears, two eyes, one nose and one mouth. Some say it's big, some say nothing. My college at work asked me one year to wear green on St. Paddy's day. I liked her, so I did. I received a lot of attention that day. I even heard some compliments about my fanny. I like one musician group called Irish lads. Their songs are funny, many times naughty. I went to each of their concerts. I don't know if they still play, I will come to listen to them, but I will have to bring a friend with me, who will keep telling me, I don't drink. United States are one humongous melting pot and i think Irish melt rather well. What Irish brought to this melting pot. They are hard working, easy going and they like to laugh. At least those I know. What is a favorite meal? I would say everything, what is good. They like potatoes, I also like potatoes. One Czech comedian said his favorite meal is potatoes with rum and he asked for second and third helping of sauce. At each work I met at least one Patricia and I know Sharon. Yes, I would like to visit Ireland. A wheelchair, here we go. Copyright (c) Marie Neumann 2/14/2015 POW! assignment

A mirror

I am a mirror hanging on the wall, facing a window on the west side of the house, in the room on the second floor. I reflect four seasons, changing colors of the sky and during the night I absorb a night and stars looking into the window. I also see the most of the room, where I am hanging out. I can't see a carpet and running feet in dirty shoes, but I hear voices. One is scolding: “Why you didn't change your shoes downstairs? You brought all mud into your bedroom.” And a guilty one: “I'll change and vacuum the floor, mom.” I also can see a child sleeping under a blanket on the bed in the night. I don't look his way, so I will not bring some of my memories into his dreams. I rather look into the sky, quietly, motionlessly, steadily. I just reflect. I am the mirror. While I was waiting

The Sun went down while I was waiting. The night in her black cloak passed by. It covered all stars and Moon didn't show up. I was still waiting in the morning while I was watching first snow, tomorrow's rain and Spring's thawing. I was still waiting: for what? My happiness is sitting in recliner watching TV. While I was waiting life was happening. I was waiting for something better to come. Next day I looked back and found out something better just happened yesterday and it isn't coming back. Frozen ice-flake

Henry captured a big frozen ice-flake. The flake is now sulking in his camera. It would prefer to sit on the window and look out at snow covered cars, icy road and snowy hats of the trees. It didn't want to get out of the camera. Now it must to get inside of a computer, and to be four times magnified. It is not photogenic anymore, but only grumpy. Around it are composed colors, pink and yellow to make it to stand out more. On the paper it is unique. When furious, ice-flake looks like a Christmas ornament knitted from a wire to hang on the Christmas tree. opyright © text Marie Neumann Translater makes it much easier.
